The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said on Saturday when Daesh (the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) emerged in Iraq last year, no country but Iran helped the Arab country deal with the terrorist group.
“(At the time), Iran came to the aid of the Iraqi nation to help destroy Daesh, and the world, even (US President Barack) Obama, were astonished by the fact that Daesh, which had planned for years, suffered defeat and that Iran had become the bane of Daesh,” Fars news agency quoted Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari as saying.
