President Ebrahim Raeisi appointed Mohammad Mokhber as first vice president on Sunday in a first decree after his inauguration.
Mokhber, 66, has a PhD in international law and has held different management positions since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, including deputy governor general of Khuzestan Province and commercial deputy at the Mostazafan Foundation, IRNA reported.

He will now replace Eshaq Jahangiri who filled the post of first vice president for eight years during the two terms of former president Hassan Rouhani.
