President-elect Ebrahim Raeisi’s endorsement ceremony is slated for Tuesday in the presence of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei among other prominent attendees.
The ceremony will be held in adherence to Covid-19 health protocols devised by the National Coronavirus Headquarters for the occasion, leader.ir reported.
Set to start at 10:30 a.m., the event will be both broadcast on state television and livestreamed on various social media platforms.
During the ceremony, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli will deliver his report on the 13th presidential election, followed by remarks by Raeisi and the Leader’s endorsement speech.
Raeisi managed to secure over 60% of the votes (nearly 18 million votes) during the June presidential race to replace outgoing President Hassan Rouhani after his maximum two terms in office.
The president-elect will be sworn into office on Thursday at 5 p.m. inside the parliament.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Sunday that presidents, prime ministers, parliamentarians, foreign ministers and special envoys from more than a dozen countries will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Among the key figures who will take part in the event is Iraqi President Barham Salih.
