In a statement on Monday, the Coordinating Council for Islamic Propagation invited people to turn out in large numbers for the demonstrations to be held across the country on Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
“People’s epic, revolutionary and enthusiastic presence on the scene of displaying national unity on the day of God, Bahaman 22 (Feb. 11), will be the renewal of allegiance to the ideals of the great architect of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, and martyrs and will be an affirmative response to the invitation of the Supreme Leader,” the statement said, ISNA reported.
Government organizations, state institutions, political parties and officials, including President Hassan Rouhani, also issued statements and messages on Sunday and Monday inviting people to attend the nationwide rallies.
