Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for boosting national production as an indisputable way to render foreign sanctions ineffective.
“The best way to neutralize sanctions is by making proper efforts to boost national production, in which case sanctions will be first nullified and then revoked,” he said in a televised speech on Sunday, on the occasion of the National Teachers Day.
He explained that when enemies see their sanctions have not only failed to paralyze the country’s economy, but have also unlocked its domestic potential, they will have no choice but to remove them.
Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the important role of workers in building a “production-oriented and independent economy”, calling for adequate support of this group.
“The most important type of support for production should be support for workers,” he said, citing this year’s motto “production, support and removal of obstacles”.
The Leader noted that supporting workers is in fact support for national wealth, which will ensure the country’s power and independence.
In addition to financial welfare, workers need to be supported in other ways, according to the Leader, including skill training, insurance and healthcare, job security and housing.
Ayatollah Khamenei also warned those who cause the shutdown of factories for their personal benefits, describing it as “treason” against the country.
This strikes a blow to production because those products will have to be imported, which are prevented by sanctions.
Besides the revitalization of these large businesses, the Leader underlined the need to activate and support small- and medium-sized enterprises, which can help create wealth for the general society and the deprived strata.
