The caretaker of the permanent mission to the United Nations described “illegitimate” and “illegal” sanctions as an important contributing factor to the increase in inequalities in the countries which are the victims of sanctions, underlining the “detrimental” role of sanctions which are a major impediment to countries’ efforts to achieve the objectives of the third millennium.
Ambassador Hossein Dehqani made the remarks on Thursday at the 53rd session of the UN’s Commission for Social Development which started on Wednesday and will run until February 13 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Fars news agency reported.
