Coronavirus Update: 376,000 Infections, 21,670 Deaths

As of Tuesday, Iran has recorded nearly 376,900 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and over 21,670 fatalities, a health official announced.
Within a 24-hour period, Iran added 1,682 Covid-19 patients to its caseload, 786 of whom required hospitalization, the spokeswoman of Health Ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, was quoted as saying by ISNA.
The Health Ministry also logged 101 new deaths, the lowest toll since June 18, signaling an end to the peak of the second wave.
“More than 325,000 have recovered from the infectious disease so far. Some 3,700 are in severely ill and hospitalized in intensive care units,” she added.
Iran has administered 3.25 million diagnostic tests to identify patients.
In the past 10 days, the viral infection has taken the lives of four to five Iranians every hour and infected 84. On average, as many as 73 have recovered per hour.
Covid-19 cases worldwide topped 25.6 million on Tuesday and the death toll reached 856,000.
