Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was to visit Istanbul on Sunday for a series of political talks.
The top Iranian diplomat was to meet his Turkish counterpart in Istanbul for talks on relations between the two neighbors and major regional and international developments, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The foreign minister and the defense minister of Russia were also expected to visit Turkey the same day.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry had earlier announced that Zarif plans to visit Moscow as well.
Following his trip to Syria, this is Zarif’s second foreign trip after the first wave of coronavirus.
Iran, Russia and Turkey, as guarantors of Astana Process, are working to reinforce the Syrian-Syrian dialogue to pave the way for Syrians to decide their future by establishing de-escalation zones, forming a constitutional committee and following up on the dialogue process and national reconciliation.
