Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is set to travel to Moscow and Ankara next week to meet his Russian and Turkish counterparts and discuss the latest developments in bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues.
This will be Zarif’s second trip after a visit to Syria since health conditions arising from the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic improved, ISNA reported.
Iran, Russia and Turkey are sponsors of a peace process that aims to restore peace in Syria.
Prior to the trip, the top diplomat sent a message of congratulations to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and his government and nation on the occasion of the country's National Day.
"Fortunately, thanks to the will of the two countries' top authorities, bilateral ties aimed at promoting common interests and helping ensure regional and international stability and security is experiencing a growth which I hope will continue and deepen," he said in the message, IRNA reported.
Russia Day, June 12, marks the day when the declaration of state sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic was adopted and is a national holiday.
