The chairman of the Expediency Council invited people to turn out in large numbers for demonstrations to be held on February 11 across the country to mark the 36th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
"This day is not exclusive and belongs to all people, and we hope that with God's grace… we will witness unprecedented and glorious gatherings of people with various political persuasions this year," Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said in a meeting of the Expediency Council on Saturday, IRNA reported.
He also expressed congratulations to people on the occasion of the Ten-Day Dawn, which starts with celebrations on the anniversary of the return of the late Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, from exile to Paris on February 1, 1979 and culminates in nationwide rallies to commemorate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution which occurred on February 11, 1979.
