Former foreign minister Kamal Kharazi has said the coalition that the United States is building to fight the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria is “suspicious”.

The Unites States had asked Iran to join the coalition, but Iran refused the offer because it was a “suspicious move”.

“Some Arab countries, with the support of the United States and the West, created the IS. They now claim that they want to fight the group. It is suspicious and it is not possible to cooperate with a suspicious move,” he said in an interview with IRNA published on Sunday.
