Religious Leaders Should Unite to Help People Worldwide

Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution Saeed Reza Ameli has called for the formation of a joint international committee working against the COVID-19 pandemic in a letter to world religious leaders.
“A joint committee should be formed of world religious and major social movement leaders seeking a way to help the oppressed people of the world facing the coronavirus during these difficult times,” Ameli wrote in a letter published on Sunday, Press TV reported.
Citing religious teachings to “wish for others what you wish for yourself", the senior cultural official stressed that “the priority of all should be supporting those infected by COVID-19 and providing international support to one another”.
Ameli described the coronavirus outbreak as being reminiscent of the “oppression by the system of hegemony and capitalism that has caused worldwide starvation, social inequality and oppression”.
“Our days before the COVID-19 were also coronavirus-stricken; the coronavirus of dark minds have for years pursued imperialism, destruction and social discrimination,” he added.
