Rouhani, Putin Meet in Armenia

The presidents of Iran and Russia met in Armenia on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union Summit on Tuesday to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.  
President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, discussed a range of topics, including Iran's 2015 nuclear deal, the security of Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, as well as the Iranian initiative for regional peace known as the Coalition of Hope (Hormuz Peace Endeavor), President.ir reported. 
The two presidents agreed to work for strengthening bilateral ties in all areas of shared interest. 
Putin welcomed Iran's partnership with EEU whose members include Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. 
Rouhani highlighted the role of Moscow in ensuring the implementation of the nuclear agreement. 
Putin reiterated his country's support for the deal, saying Moscow will do all in its power to ensure all signatories fully meet their commitments. 
The Iranian president also pointed to his initiative, stressing that peace and security in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz will only be achieved through the cooperation of regional states.
