The FBI announced on Tuesday that Wesam el-Hanafi, a New York resident, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of supporting al-Qaeda both financially and logistically to carry out attacks against the New York Stock Exchange. According to the FBI, el-Hanafi provided financial support of $67,000 and swore allegiance to al-Qaeda members in Yemen, Sputnik reported.
