A Turkish private jet en route from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to Istanbul with at least 11 people on board crashed Sunday night near Shahr-e Kord City in central Iran.
The plane hit a mountain in Shahr-e Kord and burst into flames, Mojtaba Khaledi, the spokesman of Iran Emergency Management Organization was quoted as saying by organization's website
Search and rescue team were trying to reach the air plane crash site. Villagers near the crash say they saw flames coming from the plane's engine before the crash, the official was quoted as saying by Mizan News Agency.
The plane was owned by Başaran Holding, Turkey's transportation minister confirmed Sunday, Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reported.
