A veteran of previous regimes Beji Caid Essebsi was sworn in as Tunisia’s president at a ceremony in parliament on Wednesday, the AFP reported. The 88-year-old’s opponents have accused him of seeking a return to the era of longtime dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who clung to power for 23 years.
