Syrian Gov’t Returns to Geneva Talks

A delegation of Syria’s government, led by the country’s ambassador to the UN, Bashar Jaafari, arrived in Geneva on Sunday to participate in the talks. He chose not to answer questions from reporters regarding whether the delegation would be ready to participate in direct talks with the opposition, TASS reported. The eighth round of the intra-Syrian talks began in Geneva on November 28. The government delegation arrived later, and on December 2 it returned to Damascus for consultations. The current talks will continue until December 15.
