Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Greece on Dec. 7-8, the presidency’s press information center confirmed on Saturday. Erdogan —upon the invitation of Greece’s President Prokopis Pavlopoulos— will embark on the two-day official visit, where bilateral relations and regional issues will be discussed, Anadolu reported. Turkey’s presidential aide, Ibrahim Kalin, also commented on Erdogan’s upcoming visit, saying it “will take the two countries’ relations to a higher level”. He will be the first Turkish president to visit Greece in 65 years. Celal Bayar was the last Turkish president to visit Greece, in 1952.
