Extremist Jewish Group Beats Protester

A video showing a Palestinian-American professor being violently beaten by members of the Jewish Defense League during a protest on March 26 in the United States has been circulating on social media. JDL is an extremist Jewish movement founded in the US and was categorized as a terrorist organization by FBI in 2001, The Observer reported. The protest in Washington, D.C., was organized alongside the annual conference of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, a powerful pro-Israel lobby in the country, to protest against its support for the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. The video shows the professor, later identified as Kamal Nayfeh, huddled on the ground. A group of men surround him and aim kicks and blows at his body, while hitting him with American and JDL flags. The police eventually intervene and manage to push the violent crowd away from Nayfeh.
