Syrian Armed Forces killed more than 25 terrorists belonging to the self-styled Islamic State militant group west of Palmyra in Homs on Monday.

A military source also told SANA that this followed violent clashes with IS militants east of an oil-pumping station, which also resulted in injuring large numbers of terrorists and destroying their weapons and equipment.

The source added that an army unit carried out a precision strike targeting a gathering of leaders of terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, earlier known as Al-Nusra front, in the surroundings of al-Rastan city in the province’s north, killing a number of leaders, including one named Abu Haidar and Sadeq al-Yousef, and injuring others.

Meanwhile, a unit of the army destroyed six vehicles of IS terrorists in artillery strikes against their movements and supply routes in east Aleppo.

Another military source told SANA that the army’s operation in Um al-Mara Village in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy in Aleppo ended up with the killing of a number of terrorists.

Since March 2011, Syria has been gripped by militancy. The terrorists have suffered major setbacks over the past few months as the army has managed to liberate a number of areas from their grip.
