Singapore’s President Tony Tan dissolved Singapore’s Parliament on Tuesday at the request of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is seeking a fresh mandate from voters worried over immigration and the high cost of living in a slowing economy. The election is set for September 11 and the ruling People’s Action Party is widely expected to keep its overwhelming majority, AFP reported.
