Myanmar Frees 7,000 Prisoners

Almost 7,000 prisoners were released under a mass presidential pardon in Myanmar. Among those freed were political prisoners and over 200 foreign nationals. A statement from the country’s Information Ministry said the decision was “in view of national reconciliation,” although a freed political prisoner described it as a “show,” Euronews reported.
