Japan to Expand Military Role

A Japanese parliamentary committee has approved security bills to expand the role of the country’s military. One bill would allow the Japanese military a greater role, including the defense of foreign allies that come under attack while another would expand the military’s international peacekeeping role, Al Jazeera reported.
