Japan Power Cuts Ahead of Typhoon

At least 22,000 households were left without power in the Amami area in Kagoshima Prefecture, on the most southwesterly main island of Kyushu as powerful typhoon Phanfone moved in, Japan’s national public broadcaster NKH reported Sunday. Scores of residents of the area were evacuated.
