A 21-year-old white man was charged with nine counts of murder for an attack on a historic black South Carolina church, local police said on Friday, calling the shooting a “hate crime.” Dylann Roof, from Columbia, South Carolina, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Shelby, North Carolina, Reuters reported.
