Tajik Opposition Leader Killed

Tajik opposition leader Umarali Quvvatov, 47, was shot dead by an unknown assailant on an Istanbul street late on Thursday, Turkey’s private Dogan news agency said on Friday. Quvvatov, head of the “Group 24” opposition movement, was killed with a single shot to the head at around 10:30 pm (2030 GMT) in the Fatih district of the city. The attacker fled the scene, Dogan said.
