Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan was arrested Tuesday, police said, during a court appearance for one of dozens of cases pending since he was booted from office last year.
"Imran Khan has been arrested in the Qadir Trust case," the Islamabad police official Twitter account said, referring to a graft case, news outlets reported.
Khan was taken into custody from a court premises in Islamabad in a corruption case, the broadcaster reported.
"Imran Khan's car has been surrounded," Khan's aide Fawad Chaudhry said without confirming his arrest. Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb did not immediately respond to a Reuters request seeking confirmation of the report.
