Hotter Summer Days Expected in Iran

Summer temperatures are expected to continue rising in the coming days, with some provinces forecast to see temperatures well above the 30-year average.

"Since July 18, the temperature in all parts of the country, except some western and southern areas, including the provinces of West Azarbaijan, East Azarbaijan, Kermanshah, Kurdestan, Khuzestan, Ilam, Lorestan and Hormozgan and the south of Kerman, will reach up to 4 degrees Celsius above the long-term average," the head of Monitoring Network at Iran Meteorological Organization, Masoud Haqiqat, said.

"Meteorological studies show the situation will continue until August 4, when the temperature is expected to start falling," he was quoted as saying by IRNA.

Haqiqat called for more judicious consumption of national resources to successfully weather a crisis arisen from scarce water and power supplies.
