Expanding the gas network in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province is on the government agenda, the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company said.
Work is underway to build and lay pipelines to supply gas to more cities and power plants, ISNA reported Hassan Montazer-Torbati as saying.
The projects are in line with efforts to provide the remote and deprived regions with natural gas.
“Construction of the 262km pipeline between Iranshahr City and the provincial capital Zahedan has been completed at a cost of $62.5 million,” he said, adding that expansion of the grid to other cities of the vast province has started.
