The oil ministry expropriated Qeshm Airlines, formerly belonging to Babak Zanjani, who was charged and incarcerated for refusing to return the oil ministry's blocked oil revenues, Ali-Akbar Shabanifar, chairman of Qeshm Free Zone was quoted by ISNA as saying. On December 30, 2013, Zanjani was arrested by Iranian police for his alleged role in a corruption scandal concerning Iran oil revenues.
