Iran Gas Co. Power Plant in Ilam Supports National Grid

Ilam Gas Processing Company's power plant generated 67,000 megawatt hours of electricity in the last six months raising revenue and at the same time helping the national grid meet summer demand, the head of the power station said.

"Of the total electricity production, 15,000 MWh was sold to the Iran Grid Management Company, generating $190,000 for the plant," Saeed Asgari was quoted as saying by IRNA.

The power plant has also supplied other companies and industrial units, namely West Oil and Gas Company and Arian Tejarat Mana Company with 2,000 MWh in the period.

"Close to 50,000 MWh was used in gas refining units in the six months," he said, adding that the station made  $220,000 in 2017.

Asgari noted that the plant has three thermal-gas powered turbo generators, each with 21 MW capacity.

The station provides power to the refinery with the help of a 63/20 substation in addition to 30 electrical feeders.

Iran’s installed power generation capacity has exceeded 82 gigawatts.

According to Abedin Zargoushi, IGPC deputy manager for operation, the complex that is a subsidiary of the National Iranian Gas Company and the only gas producer in western Iran, has pumped 1.30 billion cubic meters of sweetened gas into the Iran Gas Trunkline over the past nine months.

Sour gas delivery to processing units has risen by 45%, reaching 1.37 bcm, he said.

"The complex also produced 150,000 barrels of condensates in the period," he said, noting that IGPC's sulphur output increased by 10%, reaching 47,000 tons in the past nine months.
