Export from Khorasan Petrochemical Company increased by 12% in the first nine months of the current fiscal (March-December) compared to the corresponding period last year, the managing director said Tuesday.

A subsidiary of Iran's National Petrochemical Company, KPC is the largest chemical producer in the north and northeast of Iran.

“The company exported $62 million worth of products in the nine-month period,” IRNA quoted Hussein Shafiee as saying.

Urea is widely used in the agricultural industry as animal feed additive and fertilizer and contains 46% nitrogen.

Ammonia is used in making fertilizers and explosives, where methanol serves as a source for other chemicals.

The company exports to 11 countries, namely India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iraq, the UAE, Mozambique and Ukraine.
