Russia’s Zarubezhneft Proposes Oilfield Development in West Iran

Proposals by Russia’s Zarubezhneft Company for developing three oil fields in western Iran have been studied by the National Iranian Oil Company's Reservoir Management Committee.

Experts discussed the development proposals for Cheshmeh Khosh, Dalpari and East Paydar oilfields, all located in Ilam Province, IRNA reported.

Zarubezhneft’s offer, if approved, would see the Russian company enhance production at the three fields. Details of the Russian proposals have not been revealed.

The National Iranian Oil Company signed a deal with Zarubezhneft in March to develop two oilfields.

According to the agreement, the Russian company will boost oil output of Aban and West Paydar oilfields in Ilam from 36,000 to 48,000 bpd in 10 years at a cost of $742 million.

Russian companies have signed MoUs with Iran in the past one year to study 11 oil and gas fields including Abteymour, Mansouri, Dehloran, Changuleh and Azar fields.

Cheshmeh Khosh Oilfield is 80km east of Dehloran near the border with Iraq. It has two reservoirs that produce 20,000 barrels of oil plus 3 million cubic meters of natural gas a day.

Dalpari is 210km northwest of Ahwaz. It has three wells producing 14,000 barrels of oil per day. East Paydar, located on the border of Ilam and Khuzestan provinces, produces 5,000 bpd.
