    Total Technical Workshop in Bushehr

    French energy giant Total S.A. held a technical workshop in the southern Bushehr Province on Wednesday on "installation of offshore platforms". The event was attended by Total's representatives and development operators, executives and representatives of the giant South Pars Gas Field in Persian Gulf, Shana reported. Topics such as simultaneous operations system, guidelines for offshore operations, safety and efficiency, as well as risk assessment, were discussed during the session. Total signed a 20-year contract with the National Iranian Oil Company on the development of Phase 11 of South Pars. The project is conducted in partnership with China's state-owned oil and gas company CNPC and Petropars–an NIOC subsidiary. Total holds a 50.1% majority stake in the project and its partners, CNPC and Petropars–a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company, have a 30% and 19.9% share respectively. The French firm has agreed to transfer technology and know-how to Iranian contractors, as per the new rule set by the government for international oil and gas contracts.
