Petrochem Contracts on Agenda

Entekhab Industrial Group, a major domestic manufacturer, is making efforts to finalize contracts for completing petrochemical projects with a combined capacity of over 3 million tons in the current fiscal year (started March 21), the company's CEO said. "The projects include constructing the production units of formalin and methanol on the southern island of Qeshm with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons and 1.8 million tons respectively as well as the production of 130,000 tons of pentane and hexane in Asalouyeh [in the southern Bushehr Province]," Mohammad Reza Diyani was also quoted as saying by NIPNA, the National Petrochemical Company's news agency. "Completing a propane dehydrogenation unit in Asalouyeh with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tons is also on the agenda," he added. According to the official, projects with a total value of $2 billion are set to be financed by South Korean investors and will go on stream within two years.
