The French oil and gas giant Total, as the main contractor for the development of South Pars Phase 11, has held tenders worth $860 million since last summer, the director of Pars Oil and Gas Company said.
"The winners, most of which are Iranian contractors, will be announced in the near future," Mohammad Meshkinfam was also quoted as saying by Shana on Tuesday.
According to the official, the construction of jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines and the platforms were put out to tender.
Stressing that procedures for implementing the development contract of Phase 11 are moving as scheduled, Meshkinfam noted that Total is currently involved with the final scrutiny of tender packages and the final list will be announced soon.
"It is projected that most subcontracts will be awarded to Iranian firms," he said, noting that plans are in place to hold drilling tenders in the near future, as operational procedures are expected to commence by mid-2018.
