Storage capacity of petroleum products will increase by 540 million liters upon the completion of three storage units, deputy of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) said, Shana news agency reported Monday.

Abdollah Mollabagher said total capacity for storage would reach 13 billion liters by the end of the present Iranian calendar year (March 2015), given the development progress of units in Mahshahr, Malayer and Shiraz.

Mahshahr unit with 300 million liters capacity and the one in Malayer with 70 million liters are near completion, and development of the 170 million liter unit in Shiraz is estimated at 85 percent. Mollabagher said $52 million is needed to complete the three projects.

Moreover, close to 580 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas was stored in the Shourijeh storage facility in Fars Province, allowing for withdrawal of 9 mcm of gas per day in the cold season, managing director of the Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Processing Co. (SGPC) said.

He added that the SGPC pumped 10.6 billion cubic meters of gas into the national network in the three quarters ending in December, with gas condensate output at 92,000 cubic meters.
