Universities, Oil Ministry Sign R&D Contract

The energy ministry signed 10-year agreements with 8 major academic centers and universities for development in oil and gas fields, IRIB reported.
“The academic centers will concentrate their R&D on certain fields to increase extraction,” Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said, adding that terms and conditions of agreements could improve in the future.
Amirkabir University of Technology, Shiraz University, Sahand University of Technology, Petroleum University of Technology, Research Institute of Petroleum Industry, Tehran University’s Institute of Petroleum Engineering, and a specialized research center for enhanced oil and gas recovery will undertake studies on several oil and gas fields across the country.
