Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has appointed Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, a former minister, as his chief industrial adviser, the National Iranian Oil Company's news portal said in a statement on Tuesday. Nematzadeh, 72, served as the minister of industries, mining and trade between 2013 and 2017 during the first term of Hassan Rouhani as president. The nomination comes amid reports on a possible reshuffling of top jobs across the petroleum industry, including the national oil, gas and petrochemical companies as well as the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company. Zanganeh, 64, was reappointed as oil minister for four more years in President Hassan Rouhani's second Cabinet in August. In a rare move that earned him the praise of media in February last year, Zanganeh elected Marzieh Shahdaei, the only female deputy oil minister, as the head of NPC.
