Electricity production has increased by six percent since the beginning of the year (March 21), compared with the same period last year, IRIB reported. During the current year, around 198 thousand gigawatts (GW) of electricity were produced, up 6.43 percent from last year. From the total figure, 187 thousand GWs were generated by thermal power plants, and 11 thousand GW hours from hydroelectric plants.
