Russia-Egypt Nuclear Deal Imminent

Moscow and Cairo may ink a deal on the construction of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant in Egypt by the end of the year. Russia's Rosatom nuclear energy corporation could sign a contract on the construction of the Dabaa nuclear power plant in Egypt in December, Sputnik cited Egypt's economic newspaper Al Bursa on Wednesday. Government sources said that the Russian company will complete the verification of data and characteristics of the site next month. According to reports, all legal and financial points have been settled with Russia and a detailed report on the results of the last negotiations has been submitted to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Russia and Egypt signed an intergovernmental agreement on the construction of  Dabaa NPP, consisting of four nuclear power units, 1,200 megawatt each, on the Mediterranean Sea coast in November 2015. It is set to become the largest construction project carried out by Russia and Egypt.
