The South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) has earned $990 million by reducing the period of major repairs in its South Pars phases in the Persian Gulf, managing director of the SPGC said, IRNA reported.
"By lowering the time of repairs by 40 percent in the South Pars Complex, gas output has reached 1.6 billion cubic meters," said Masoud Hassani.
The improvement led to a 272% increase in the SPGC propane production in the March-September period compared to the same period last year; butane output also increased by 59% in the said period. Due to the optimization of the repairs, SPGC's gas supply to refineries had increased to 71.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) in the first five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March-August) after a 15 percent increase compared to the same time last year.
Gas output from the refineries had also reached 66.5 bcm in the said period, with the production of gas condensate at 10.5 million cubic meters and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 583,000 metric tons. Hassani said that SPGC reviews the progress of its projects within the 20-Year Vision Plan every three months.
The 2025 Vision aims to promote the country's overall position at the national, regional and international levels and reach a developed status by 2025.
