Italian energy group Eni said on Monday it had made a significant gas discovery in the Merakes exploration prospect offshore Indonesia, Reuters reported. The company said the potential of the Merakes finding has been estimated at 1.3 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas in place, with further upside to be assessed via a delineation campaign.
