Chevron and BP made an oil discovery in one of the deepest regions the industry has taken on in the Gulf of Mexico, Fuel Fix reported. The discovery well, located about 180 miles from the Louisiana coast, “encountered significant oil pay,” said the companies; but they did not say how much oil they estimated is in the ancient Paleogene sandstone formation.
