Tens of foreign companies have expressed readiness to participate in the 12th International Energy Exhibition (Kish ENEX 2016), which is to be held in 11-14 January on Kish Island, located in the Persian Gulf.

The international exhibition is the first of its kind in the Iranian oil industry after Iran and the West reached the historic nuclear deal concurrent with the first phase of lifting sanctions against the country, Shana reported.

Iran and the five major powers, plus Germany, reached a landmark accord, based on which Tehran will limit its nuclear program in return for an end to sanctions that damaged its trade and financial sectors.

Earlier this month, President Hassan Rouhani announced that the anti-Iranian sanctions would be terminated in Germany.

The latest opportunities and potentials for making and receiving investment as well as producers' achievements in oil, gas, petrochemicals, water, electricity and modern energies will be showcased in the event.

According to the exhibition's website, about 200 companies from China, Turkey, the Netherlands, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, France, Austria, the UAE, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Australia and Russia will take part in the energy expo, which will focus on investment.

Moreover, an Italian oil and gas delegation plans to set up an exclusive pavilion.

The number of foreign companies coming to Iran for the Kish expo shows a big rise, compared to the previous edition. Some 60 companies from China, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Turkey, France, the Netherlands and India had participated in last year's event.
