Russia and China are considering the possibility of entering into a joint venture for the construction of power units for nuclear power stations, or NPPs, in third countries, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told the Second Russia-China Expo in Harbin on Monday, TASS reported. "There is serious understanding of the possibility and necessity of making a comprehensive agreement on cooperation in the atomic sphere that encompasses different projects," Rogozin said. "Starting from floating power units, where Russia has considerably advanced, it is to put the first floating power unit into operation in a year. This also concerns further cooperation not only on the territory of China, but also the possible entrance of Russia and China together to the construction markets in third countries." According to promotional materials, a total of 1,279 companies and organizations will take part in the expo. The number of participants stands at around 10,000 people, including 4,000 representatives from Russia. The exhibition will take place in China’s Harbin on October 12-16. Among participants are representatives of Russian regions actively developing economic ties with China.
