Linking the Norwegian, German and British energy markets through a subsea power cable ties the regional low-carbon economy together, said an EU official. European Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger welcomed a Norwegian license for two subsea cables that will link Norway to Germany and the UK. "This will help enormously to integrate renewable energy in North-West Europe," UPI quoted him as saying.
