Construction of phase 1 of Zanjan 2 power plant in Zanjan Province with a capacity of 500 megawatts commenced on Saturday, Tasnim news agency reported. The new combined cycle plant will be built with a $378 million investment. Phase 2 of the power plant will add another 500 megawatts to the country's energy grid.
