The second specialized exhibition on Iran's oil, gas, petrochemical, construction, energy, water, electricity and engineering services will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, from August 19-21.

The expo, called Iran Project, is mostly focused on Iran's energy sector, but is also aimed at increasing the volume of Iran's non-oil exports and paving the way for development of trade, particularly for bartering Turkmenistan's gas with Iranian goods and services. Major private and state-owned companies active in the fields of industrial production and export of technical and engineering services will take part in this year’s event, Shana reported.

"Turkmenistan's Chamber of Commerce has reportedly sent a letter to Iranian officials asking them to send certain goods and services needed in Turkmenistan to the exhibition," Abdolhamid Asadian, executive official of the Iran Project, said.

“Therefore, during this year’s exhibition, we are determined to hold trade workshops for the two sides, which would pave the way for the exchange of Turkmen gas with Iranian goods and services.”

Iran and Turkmenistan are determined to further enhance economic ties and increase bilateral trade to $60 billion in the next 10 years. The first Iran Project was held in Turkmenistan in August 2014 with the participation of 125 Iranian companies.
