Plan to Produce Oil Industry Equipment

Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh appointed Mohammad Reza Moghadam as the director of a new committee to pursue the production of 10 categories of major oil industry needs and equipment, IRNA reported.  Moghadam is the research and technology deputy of the oil ministry.
The minister urged Moghadam to examine the credentials of Iranian candidates and their foreign partners for the manufacture of oil products and equipments and award the projects to the best bidders via tenders, or if necessary, through tender exemption.

Representatives from the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the Manufacturing Support and Procurement Company (Kala Naft) are among the members of the new committee.
The minister tasked the committee with examining the terms, conditions and value of contracts, payment methods, preferences and warranties and specifying the volume of production in each contract.
The committee should also make sure that products have competitive prices and high quality. Zanganeh stressed that new contracts will be signed by December in line with the ‘economy of resistance’, a policy proposed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to counter the sanctions, promote domestic growth and reduce corruption.
The new committee aims to fulfill the oil ministry’s long-term plans to commercialize oil technologies and products while improving quality.
